Absolutely love this list. Reading sports books is a passion of mine and helps fuel ideas for my own writing about sport too. I read Narcoball and thoroughly enjoyed it and the Racket is on my Christmas list. Will definitely have a look for the UCLA book. Thanks for the recommendations.
I've just read "The Why Is Everything: A Story of Football, Rivalry, and Revolution" by Michael Silver and the Macho Man book thanks to your recommendations. "The Why Is Everything" is one of the best football books I've ever read and really sheds a light on the current state of the game.
I ordered The Racket based on your recommendation.
Let me know what you think once you've read it. Big fan of your books btw.

I can guarantee that The Formula by Robinson and Clegg is a must read book for anyone who wants to know more about the sport.
It brings all the key moments and facts from the history, preparing the reader to enjoy the sport a bit more.
Agreed. Clegg and Robinson are great balancing how to tell the overall story while also zooming in on fascinating tidbits.
Hoping to get the newsletter out more frequently in 2025 so plenty more recommendations to come.
Thanks for the book recommendations. I'll be adding these to my TBR list.
